This one-day workshop, held at Sally Rockriver's Thermal Lab, is a solid
foundation for future glass blowing courses. Intensive and hands-on, the
day includes demonstrations on how to work with molten furnace glass
accompanied by
class exercises. Students will have close-up contact with the equipment,
processes, concepts, and materials. Each participant will gather hot
glass on a long pipe and make their owncolored glass paperweight and
swizzle-stick canes

FROM PITTSBORO: -Take hwy 87 north toward
graham -go 8 miles
-turn right onto Chicken Bridge Road (at the "Captain John Blakely"
historical marker) -go 4 mile to dead end -turn left onto Crawford
Dairy Road -go 1 mile -turn right onto Collins Mtn. Rd. -second

FROM GRAHAM:-Take NC54 heading east toward Chapel Hill.Go about
10 miles, Turn right at gas station onto Morrow Mill Road. After 1.5
miles, take left fork "ArtSchool&b=To%20Register&onto Clover Garden-Orange Chapel Road. Go through
flashing red light, after 1 mile road will curve left and downhill over
small bridge. As road flattens, take sharp left onto Collins Mountain
Road. 2nd bldg on right, # 196 Collins Mountian Rd., white barn on
right.
